(UK) Burton A/W 10 Collection unveiled to the media

Canoe held their bi-annual press days on the 22nd and 23rd of April, in which the Burton Autumn/ Winter collections were unveiled to the media. With over one hundred and twenty attendants over the two days including stylists and fashion writers from some of the most influential publications in the industry.

The Autumn/Winter collection was very warmly received and highly regarded, key pieces such as the Chigurh jacket and the Love board receiving critical acclaim. The Anon sunglasses were also very popular with a number of attendees calling products in there and then.

The press days are a very important event, as a platform for promoting the brand and also pushing Burton into future features and fashion shoots. Following the press days, the next stage is to follow up enquiries with those that expressed an interest in using Burton as well as inviting those that were unable to attend the opportunity to visit the showroom to see the full collection. As a barometer for how the coming season will go, all signs are positive as Canoe looks to further Burton's prominence in the mainstream media.

Gravis: Hanging 10 (Minutes) with Kassia Meador on FUEL.TV

Interview with Gravis Team's Kassia Meador

Hanging 10 (Minutes) With Kassia Meador

We wish we could go on a surf trip with Kassia Meador, but alas we're rocking a beer budget and her trips are more of the champagne variety, so we'll just have to settle for watching from the beach...or our computers.

Life’s is good when you are Kassia Meador. The California native and world class longboarder has spent the last ten years globetrotting with her 9+ foot boards from Morocco to Bali to Fiji. We hate her. No we love her. No we hate her. Ok, we’ll admit that we think she’s pretty cool, but we’ll let you be the judge.

Anon launch event in Stockholm

Through an unmarked door in Stockholm's Vasastan area, guests were greeted to a darkened stairway going down into a basement art gallery. An Anon slide show and white fluorescent tubes lit the way. In the raw art space of Galleri Kleerup, four projectors, projected key Anon sunglasses onto the walls as shadows, whilst a white laser joined the projectors and slowly sliced through the thin smoke to modern disco from 24:hrs and german DJ's Permament Vacation. Throughout the night, a portrait exhibition by top Swedish photographer Fredrik Skogkvist took shape, as he snapped portraits of attendees in the Anon glasses they were both printed and projected onto the gallery walls.

Travelin' Man: Diplo Leaves Town With Burton

Ever since Diplo produced M.I.A.'s first, um, album, Piracy Funds Terrorism he's been touring non-stop and remixing everyone from The Black Lips to dubstep superstar Caspa. He stopped through the Los Angeles Burton store while wrapping up a quick West coast promo tour for Major Lazer, his latest project with friend and fellow golden boy, Switch. Diplo's favorite piece of luggage was the Liquid Lounger which he picked up along with a Cargo and even a Burton belt before heading to London for the month. On a side note, note the frames. He walked in wearing a pair of Anon sunglasses which he snatched from a friend and grabbed another pair in tortoise because he wanted two pair of "favorite sunglasses."
