Fix Up, Look Sharp: Influential Fashion Designers, Shipley and Halmos Choose Burton

What do you get when you cross an ex-Colorado am rider, an avid snowboarder/surfer from Florida and an influential, New York-based fashion line? Two Burton "lifers" who stopped through the New York store to pick up some gear for this season's holiday hiatus. The design duo Shipley and Halmos, who won the coveted CFDA Vogue Fashion Award for their previous line, Trovata, will be donning some new Burton gear this season.

Burton is included in New York Magazine’s annual Gift List issue.

the magazine asked fellow New Yorkers what was on their wish list for the holiday season. Responses ranged from an 11 year old student asking for a drum set and a 31 year old concierge wishing for a scratching post for his new cat to a 19 year old sales associate wanting a years worth of mocha Frappuccinos and a 27 year old teacher asking for a new tattoo. Burton’s Pendant Pant was on the wish list of a 23 year old Dramaturgy Fellow. (Dramaturgy is the art of dramatic composition and the representation of the main elements of drama on the stage).

A picture of the pants is featured along with a mention of the SoHo store as where consumers can purchase them. New York Magazine has a circulation of 430,000.

The December issue of Maxim features the T6 Board in the Outdoor Adventurer section of the Winter Guide.

The T6 is the only snowboard included in the entire magazine.

Maxim has a circulation of 2.5 million.

Burton is included in Antenna Magazine’s winter issue!

The Un…Inc board is featured front and center in the Snowboards section and the Burton Cargo Pant are pictured in the Snow Pants fashion page. Also included in the issue is a pair of Anon Shockers in the Sunglasses spread. Antenna has a circulation of 150,000.

The December issue of Outside’s Go features Jake in the 'Made in Vermont' feature.

The story includes two full pages of Jake with prominent product placement from a photo shoot that took place at his house last spring.

There is a lot of pride that goes into Vermont products and Jake’s sentiments ring through as he is quoted saying “There is something soulful about products made in Vermont. We are probably getting word from the same trees people get syrup from. We make the best snowboards in the world in Vermont”.
